Congratulations to Glen Knaust’s selection as a 2025 VFS Technical Fellow at Forum 81. This recognition is granted to Society members whose career-based accomplishments towards the goals and objectives of the vertical flight technical community constitute an outstanding technical achievement.

Knaust is a distinguished technical leader in vertical flight, renowned for his expertise in test piloting, flight safety, and fly-by-wire systems, with contributions that have set industry standards and continue to shape the future of rotary-wing aviation.

Join the Vertical Flight Society South Florida Chapter for An Evening with Bill Welsh

The John Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHUAPL) is leading a NASA program to explore Titan. The Dragonfly Lander is an 8-rotor, autonomous vehicle that weighs over 2,100 lb. on Earth but only 300 lb. on Titan. It is electrically powered and can navigate autonomously over the dunes of Titan using Lidar and Navigation Cameras. The vehicle carries a suite of scientific equipment, including a drill and mass spectrometer, to explore the prebiotic chemistry of Titan.
